A Legacy of Commitment

Waldron Enterprises was founded in 1958 by Vester Waldron. The business stemmed from his father, Emmett Waldron. In 1933, the family opened Waldron’s Grocery Store in La Vergne, TN. A few years later, he purchased a few acres behind the store to build a rental house. Five more followed in the coming year. The rest, as they say, is history.

Our History

The country store sold in 1960, and the Waldrons were in the business of building houses full time. Over the next few years, they developed a subdivision of about 150 houses. Vester remained active in the community serving on the County Commission and later became the first mayor of La Vergne in 1972 and served until 1980.

In 1982 they completed a townhome project of 22 units in Smyrna. They originally intended to sell but due to the economy at the time, interest rates had peaked at 21.5%. With the units not selling, they decided to lease them. That is how they got their start in property management. They went on to build larger complexes and still manage them to this day.

Vester Waldron passed away in 2002, and the business is now run by his sons David, Charles, and Greg. Waldron Enterprises remains a family business and will continue to the next generation.
